Glutenfree Pizza Recipe

Glutenfree Pizza Recipe

Wet Ingredients:

1.5 cups warm water
1 packet of yeast
1 tsp sugar/maple syrup/raw sugar

2 Tblsp olive oil

Dry Ingredients:

3 cups all purpose glutenfree flour mix  (I used Namaste brand)
1 Tblsp kosher salt
3/4 tsp baking powder  (aluminium free)
*1/2 tsp herbs de Provence

Toppings of your choice; below is what I used:

  • Tomato sauce
  • Fresh mozzarella
  • Pepperoni
  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Baby Tomatoes
  • Olives
  • Sundried tomatoes packed in olive oil

Prepare the dough:

Instruction:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl add the water, yeast and sugar. Let stand until yeast is activated, about 5 min.
  3. Add the olive oil and mix gently.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix thoroughly – use your hands or a wooden spoon until it forms into a ball.
  5. Let the dough rest in bowl and cover with a cloth and allow it to rise for a few hours.

*Dough can be halved to make 2 – 9″ pizzas or 1 large half sheet (baking tray)

Baking the Crust:

  1. Bake the crust at 425°F for 25 minutes  or until the crust is partially cooked through.
  2. Remove and let it cool for a few minutes before adding your toppings.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 450°F
  4. Place the pizza back in the oven and bake another 30 minutes or until golden.

*Ideally you want the crust to be cooked through and somewhat firm/crispy, not chewy. If it is, then you will need to bake it a few minutes longer.
